Now, between the dunes, all is over. Everything has been taken away, there is nothing left. The soft symphonies of the shorelines, once again become white noise.
If you observe carefully, you will notice we are looking at
an ephemeral and seductive space that can only just support itself, a ready-made list of constrains. We face the aesthetic fruit of a ten-hour long struggle that has apparently led to nothing. Only apparently though. Because aren’t we all as wild and fragile as these smoky ecosystems? And here, each scene has been staged with almost surgical precision, each image is a flattened waterfall that has something incomprehensible hidden behind it, a shadow on its psychological background. Photographic space is always manipulated, but never definite. Unmeasurable elements area crowded into this visual space, brought into existence by the desire to compose, it produces series of useless battlefields, the earth is a senseless accumulation, the air is a layer of dissolved smoke, lit up by a lightning flash.
